The Samsung Genio series is enjoying a lot of great reception from the market for its small size and great specifications. Price-wise, the Genio series offers a decent match for its competitors. Samsung is giving the Genio its own special Bluetooth headset, the WEP490.
The WEP490 headset looks closely similar to the Genio in terms of form shape and style. It also comes in four different colors that you can choose from. The WEP490 offers several features such as noise reduction and echo cancellation in order to help adapt the device to different locations and environments. Volume control is automatic but there is no confirmation if the device will allow you to manually set the volume.
An LED light will serve as connectivity indicator. It is reported that the device can last for up to 6 hours of talk time (far surpassing the average GSM talk time of most devices) and the standby time is reported to be up to 180 hours.
At the moment, the WEP490 is only available in Russia for £27, no announcements have been made whether the device will hit UK shores but expect demand for this device to go up as more and more people are buying the Genio.
With a Bluetooth headset like this, you can really see why Samsung is one of the best electronic manufacturers in the world. They are competing with Sony on many levels and the Korean company is holding its ground with well made electronics and stylish designs.
The WEP490 headset shows traces of the hip colors of the Genio and manages to match the mobile phone squarely; still the WEP490 looks good as a standalone Bluetooth headset. It has not been reported that it will be exclusive for use with the Genio – a great sign since the device would make for an excellent headset even for other mobile phones.
