Which Next Gen Phone is Google’s?

Google Nexus OneGoogle has been so quiet about the rumors about the developer coming up with their own device. For one thing, the silence is certainly making people feel that something big is coming, but at the same time, it does not confirm anything at all.

One thing is for certain, regardless of whether the rumor is true or not, Google’s silence shows that they have decided that it would be in the best interests of their company that the rumors of the Google phone persist.

Speaking of G-phone rumors, the most pertinent ones running around lately is that the device is actually the HTC Passion. Now, the biggest news about the HTC Passion (also known as the HTC Dragon) is that this phone is actually the HTC Bravo device from the newly leaked HTC lineup for 2010. The HTC Bravo sports a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen, the latest Android OS (whichever version that might be when April comes) and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. With specs like that, we wish it was the Google phone. But the leak has made it clear that the device will be manufactured and branded by HTC.

The big question now is; will Google really push through with their device?

Google has made it no secret that they are planning to come up with their own Chrome OS net book. If they care capable of manufacturing a net book, they can easily make a mobile phone; in fact, the Android OS is better received than the Chrome.

But unlike the Chrome net book, no other mini-laptops are using the Chrome OS. The release of a Chrome OS based computer would not compete with other Google products. The Google phone on the other hand, will serve as a very strong competition for other Android phone devices in the market.
