It has not been more than two weeks since the launch of the Google phone and now we are hearing reports and rumors that a new iPhone is coming.
It is not really a surprise to know the actual announcement itself, since it is inevitable that a new iPhone would eventually be made, but it certainly brings home the fact that it is coming. Initial reports show that the device’s casing is already in the planning stage and that there are even speculations regarding the supposed specs of the phone.
Leading the spec list is a dual core processor. While it has yet to be confirmed, this is likely to be the Snapdragon 8X72 dual core CPU clocked at a speed of 1.5 GHz. It has also been said that the new iPhone will have an OLED touch screen, better graphics (a new graphics card perhaps) and, gasp, a removable battery.
When Apple uses a removable battery you know they mean business.
Either it’s a leak or just a rumor laced with wistful thinking, the initial specs for the 4G is indeed very promising. The only thing that is making us doubt the authenticity is the presence of a removable battery. While that would indeed be a great improvement, it is very unlikely for Apple.
Sources for the rumors range from French magazines to Korean publications. Combined with recent reports that Apple intends to announce the upcoming phone this April, it shows that Apple might be taking the Google threat seriously and is keeping the interest in the iPhone alive. Apple has been known to make announcements during June and July, the April date confirms the company’s motivation based on the success of the Google phone.
Aside from the above, there are also rumors that he phone will be using a new 3D user interface and will also be coming with a 5 mega pixel snapper.
