Google Phone Prices Vary According to Region

Google Nexus OneThe HTC Nexus One is heading out all over the world. For now, the phone is exclusively available directly from Google’s website. Later on, the device will be offered by Vodafone in the UK and by T-Mobile in the US.

Currently, the only prices confirmed for the new Android phone is the US price of 329 Pounds. Vodafone UK has also announced its prices –for France; which is around 400 Pounds SIM free and 180 Pounds on a 45 Pound monthly subscription. Pricey, yes; but the device is definitely worth the cost. The HTC Google Nexus One is not only a highly anticipated device; it is also one of the most powerful mobile phones available.

The Nexus One is truly one beefed up device whose specifications match that of best mobile phones available. With its 1GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, it packs a CPU speed that matches that of the upcoming Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and HTC’s own Bravo.

The 3.7 inch capacitive AMOLED touch screen display delivers a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The phone will have an accelerometer sensor, a proximity sensor and trackball navigation (the trackball also lights up to alert users). Built into the phone is a 5 mega pixel snapper with auto focus and LED flash.

It can shoot images at a max resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels and supports smile detection and geo-tagging. The only thing missing from this device is 720p HD video capturing capabilities. It does take excellent-quality D1 video at 20 FPS with a 720 x 480 resolution.

The HTC Nexus One is definitely not going to be a cheap phone, not with specs like those. It is unlikely that we will be seeing a more budget friendly Lite version of the phone, but for anyone willing to shell out megabucks for the iPhone, this makes for a much better alternative.
