Here is one man who does not mind the long wait for a slow boot up, Bill Gates.
Before we begin, let us take a moment to remember that most gear heads and tech fans do not mind the fact that you need ample space and a bit of time to use a net book or boot up a computer. For people like us, these considerations are hardly noticeable (unless you’re on an aging Pentium computer on Windows 98 that takes forever to boot).
For the average folk, it’s a big hassle. For a point of reference, imagine choosing between a sports magazine and a computer to check on the results of the last Manchester United match.
The Apple iPad is no netbook, it’s a digitized magazine with media functions and WiFi support that you can open and close at will. If you went for the 3G version, you will have 3G and GPS support too. Too bad it lacks multi tasking, which is the only real drag about it.
Regardless of whether we agree with him or not, Bill Gates (founder of Microsoft) is a genius. The man knows what works and what does not. This is the man who gave the world Microsoft Windows and more. He says that the true mainstream is with the development of netbooks. Microsoft is currently working on tablet netbooks instead, combining touch screen technology with netbooks.
On the other hand, Microsoft is also working on a dual screen touch screen device, the Courier.
Steve Jobs, Apple’s savior (well, he is), considers netbooks as cheap computers (they’re not actually).
What they both agree on is the iPhone. Bill Gates feels like Microsoft should have “aimed higher” when speaking about the monumental smart phone.
So who do you believe in? Gates? Jobs? Or would you rather settle for and Android phone and a Chrome net book instead?
