The one problem with modern technology is that they often forget to announce a decent launch date for the UK. Be it with video games, consoles, mobile phones or other gadgets, UK releases tend to be third with either a North America or Japan launch date going first or second. Anyway, it was originally announced that the iPad might hit UK shores by around June or July –as that is what Apple said when they unveiled the tablet last week.
Looks like talks with UK distributors for the iPad have gone much smoother than expected and Apple has confirmed that the iPad 3G will be available in the UK by April 2010 (placing the non-3G version at a slightly earlier date).
This comes as great news to anyone who is excited about this new tablet from apple. After all, the device is not only a very promising gadget; it also stands at the start of a new era in modern technology where access to digital information is made easier than ever.
The best asset that the iPad has is its “pick up and use” value. Just as you would not hesitate to flip open a magazine for a quick reference; you would not scoff at the idea of turning on the iPad –a trait not present in a laptop or a computer. While the mobile phone is equally convenient, it does not provide the same user-friendliness as the iPad.
Specs wise, this device is very promising. The 9.7 inch screen is able to handle resolutions of up to 1024 x 768 pixels and the iPad’s CPU is able to handle 3D graphics smoothly. It serves as a browser, e-reader, mini-PC and more.
