A recent study in the UK showed that 70% of British adults are familiar with the iPad name and the basic concept of the device. As to whether they are aware of the device’s features and functions is a completely different matter.
A recent study has revealed that the iPad is still a wild card in terms of functionality for most people. Some even assume that the device is an oversized mobile phone capable of making calls. In general, people are looking at the device as if it were an oversized iPhone.
While this idea may not be so bad, some experts believe that Apple is doing a bad job at making the public aware of the value of their new device. While there are also those who believe that time will show the general public of the iPad’s great value, it is obvious that at this moment, not many people have a clue as to what the tablet can actually do.
On the hand, just like those who believed that the device has voice call capabilities, other people are assuming that the tablet would be capable of some of the things that it actually cannot do. A small portion of adults assume that the device will come with a built in digital camera while there are those who believe that the iPad OS has multi tasking capabilities (and it should, actually).
Either way, Apple seems confident that the current exposure of the iPad is sufficient for the public and that it would sell well eventually. The device will come with a 9.7 inch touch screen display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels as well as a 1GHz A4 processor.
