Nexus One Gets Much Needed Update

Google Nexus One 4HTC’s Nexus One has not been forgotten. Google has been busy these past couple of weeks working on an impressive new patch that straightens out some of the issues on the device.

For those who completely missed out on this would have been epic mobile phone, the Google phone is packed with a high speed 1GHz Snapdragon processor (making it the only Android device running on this CPU –for now). It also comes with a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen that delivers excellent visuals and accurate touch controls. The camera on board is a 5 mega pixel snapper with auto focus, flash and geo-tagging. Lastly, the phone also comes with a new enhanced voice call quality technology as well as speech to text technology.

This device, as good as it is, also has its own share of major wrinkles that seriously needed ironing. Now, less than a month after launch, the devs from Mountain View are delivering that much awaited fix to the Nexus One.

First up is the 3G network problem issue. Considering that 3G connectivity problems have been rare since the iPhone’s launch over two years ago. One would think that the issue would not be a problem for this new device. Anyway, the patch already fixes this problem and users can now expect a more hassle free connectivity with the device.

New to the phone is the inclusion of multi-touch features. The touch screen can handle multi touch, but since the OS has no existing features that supported it, it was not being put into use -this update fixes that. Another new addition is the Google Goggles. Now, while you might not be inclined to aim at private residences just to check mortgage rates, this will give you good info on that museum piece you have been staring at and what the price of drinks are in that bar across the street.
