Videos Give us a Peek at the Birth of a Nexus Phone

Google Nexus One 4It is not every day that you get to see how a mobile phone comes to be. Google has created a series of short video clips showcasing the integral stages of the creation of the Nexus One.

The phones went through rigorous testing and quality assurance checks before the devices were deemed fit for public release. It is impressive how the phones were made to last for the user’s lifetime; button stress tests were employed in order to ensure that they would last for repeated taps for a lifetime. A unique bending test allowed engineers to see how far the phone would bend. Dropping and tumble tests assured the manufacturers that the devices were ready to stand the bumps and pressure that happens in everyday use.

While this sneak peek into the Nexus One may be a beautiful experience, it does not change the fact that right now, getting the phone is a pain.

Google has made the Nexus One exclusive on the Google Online Store. Having the device shipped to the UK will cost an additional 30 Pounds for the shipping and UK adapter. All in all, you might as well wait for the HTC Bravo or the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10.

Still, for some people, the Nexus One is all worth it. The phone comes with a high speed 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 5 mega pixel camera and a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen display. The phone’s new voice call filtering technology will give you high quality audio during calls and the new speech to text function will have you dictating long messages and querying spoken keywords online. The phone also received a patch for fixing small bugs, updating Google Maps and adding in Google Goggles.
