HTC Legend Heading to Netherlands

HTC Legend (2)While it has yet to be known if this much awaited Hero sequel will be appearing at the Mobile World Conference this Sunday (Valentine’s Day!) at Barcelona, Spain (now that’s a vacation waiting to happen), we do know that the phone will be coming out this March in the Netherlands.

KPN just posted the official page for the HTC Android smart phone and we have to admit, it is envy inducing. Despite the fact that the Bravo has already been confirmed (as well as the XPERIA X10), the beauty about the Legend is the fact that it is not a Snapdragon smart phone. It only uses a 600 MHz processor which places it at a significantly cheaper price than the other high-end smart phones. Yes, it is something we can easily afford.

For those who have no clue what the HTC Legend is, here’s a quick rundown; the device got its premature debut when the HTC 2010 roadmap got leaked. The document revealed around five Android smart phones and three Windows Mobile devices. While the WinMo devices might have been sent to production limbo (they were meant to be used for WinMo 6.5), the Androids looks like they are being produced one after the other –well, the first two at least.

Leading the roadmap lineup was the HTC Bravo, which is already a confirmed March launcher. The HTC Legend has been popping up in the past few weeks as a confirmed device, but so far, no details of a release date has been given. This little tidbit from KPN is quite promising –it is only a matter of time before the phone is available locally.

Aside from the 3.2 inch AMOLED touch screen, 600 MHz processor and the 1300 mAh battery, the official site details reveal FM radio, 256MB of RAM and other interesting specs.
