Scorpion and the 1.5 GHz CPU added to HTC List

HTC Legend (1)Looks like we will not be running short of Android phones this year; it has already been predicted that 2010 will see the most number of Android smart phones produced, but we never guessed that a chunk of these devices will be coming from HTC.

The Taiwanese manufacturer has had a long history with Google’s mobile operating system. They were the one who manufactured the HTC Dream, which is more commonly referred to as the Android G1 phone. HTC has also created the very first Google branded phone, the HTC Nexus One.

Aside from the Android devices that the manufacturer has made with Google, they also have their own successful line of Android phones. The HTC Hero is one of the most successful android phones. The Dream and the Magic are also impressive G1 devices.

Now, the manufacturer will be creating even more devices for the Android line. For now, it has already been confirmed that the HTC Bravo and the HTC Legend will be launched at the end of Q1 2010. Plenty of other Android devices have been linked to the company as well including more three devices from the leaked 2010 roadmap.

New to HTC’s list of upcoming devices is the HTC Scorpion that has been rumored to come packed with a high speed 1.5 GHz processor –easily surpassing existing devices that use the 1GHz Snapdragon CPU. Whether this is a dual core version of the Snapdragon or an entirely new CPU from Qualcomm still remains to be seen.

With rumors that the upcoming iPhone 4G will be running on a dual core processor, it is likely that the Scorpion will be the first Android device that will have the specs to match the Apple gadget.
