Well, we know for a fact that the new Windows Phone 7 platform is a pretty impressive operating system that many of us are just itching to get our hands on. Of course, with Microsoft’s announcement that the OS will not be available until later during the holidays, it is pretty hard to figure how we can deal with the long wait.
A recent report that the first WP7 device might be coming out by October has been well received, this means that the system will be made available much earlier than expected, now a newer report states than an LG device using the new Microsoft mobile platform has raised our hopes that the first WP7 handset will be coming out as early as September.
Well, as much as we would love to speculate about dates, these are pretty misleading reports and with no official confirmation, it would be pretty pointless getting our hopes up. But while guessing about a release schedule is out of the question, there is one other thing we love to speculate about: manufacturer.
We do know that the new OS will definitely be used by different mobile phones and naturally, different manufacturers. The thing we want to know is who will be the first?
The first announcement we got about an actual device was linked to HTC. The Taiwanese company had been first to say that they will have a WP7 device ready by the holidays –right in schedule with the MWC announcement. The second news we heard about a WP7 handset is with Asus and Microsoft. It appears that the two companies are working closely to deliver a smart phone by October.
The most recent report tags LG’s upcoming Apollo smart phone as a tentative WP7 device that will be coming out this September.
