Apple Rage: SDK and HTC

AppleApple used to be one of the simplest companies in the electronic industry. Sure, they were huge and they had plenty of products, but getting under the skin and into the mind of Apple’s head was easy and you knew that these folks simply wanted to keep delivering the best. Oh wait, were they not still called Macintosh back then?

Anyway, it has been a while since Steve Jobs has taken the control of the helm and has steered Apple successfully across the raging storms of the electronic industry. Apple made a powerful comeback with their iMac computers, the iPod series, the iPhone and the recently launched iPad touch screen tablet.

At the same time, Apple has spared no quarter when it came to dealing with their competitors. It was pretty big news about a month ago when Apple declared open war against Taiwanese manufacturer HTC. Though the real truth of the matter is that by suing HTC, Apple is actually attacking its direct competitor Google.

HTC has long been a steady partner of Google in the development of the Android OS. The manufacturer has also been producing many of the Android smart phones that people have come to know and love. By filing a lawsuit against HTC, Apple could potentially cut off a huge backer for the Android OS.

Apple has also been taking a stand against Adobe as well. Steve Job’s disdain for Adobe Flash is something that has become a running gag for the tech community. But the recent release of the agreement for the SDK of the iPhone 4.0 OS pretty much spells out a ban against the use of Adobe Flash Pro CS5 –which many developers use to create iPhone apps.
