We know that the Apple iPad has already been delayed for a full month. The news was pretty sad and disappointing, especially when Apple is stating that the demand is so huge that they cannot take it anymore.
While that is an indirect stab at marketing the device as already highly successful, it also shows that even experts are unable to actually understand and foresee even basic things –such as making sure that enough iPads are already in production or already packed and shipped in time for the announced launch date.
Anyway, it turns out that the US will be getting the iPad 3G a little earlier than expected. Originally, it was expected that the device would be arriving in shelves by May 7th, but Apple has managed to squeeze out and earlier launch date. Oh goodie.
Well, what about the rest of the world?
The Apple iPad touch screen tablet is still very much delayed and as each day passes, it little good news related to the iPad feels like Apple is poking fun at the rest of the eagerly anticipating world.
The device was originally supposed to launch around this week (the last week of April), but due to Apple not being able to keep up with the demand for the iPad, they have opted to delay the launch until they have a sufficient stock of the devices to sell. Simply put, Apple did not prepare enough.
This is odd, since there is already almost a full month between the US launch last April 3rd and the last week of April –enough for Apple’s China based manufacturers to churn out enough of the devices to keep the world happy. In any case, even Steve Jobs had to eat his words when he said that they were keeping up with the demand –just days before the announcement of the delay.
