If you have been planning to get you own smart phone (after a very long time of using GSM devices), then welcome to the fold. Of course, it would be a quite a shock to you and your budget if you suddenly decide to grab one of the newer Snapdragon Androids, so you might want to take a quick look at the more wallet-friendly alternatives.
And this is where Nokia’s C3 smart phone comes in. Yep the new smart phone from the Finnish manufacturer moves away from the newer high end tech trends that we have been seeing the news lately. Instead, the C3 focuses on basic features, smart phone essentials and most importantly, a great price.
Of course, a cheap price means that you will be doing without several fancy features such as high mega pixel camera and the like. But you still get to keep WiFi access (perfect for saving up your monthly 3G bandwidth), have a web browser, email and many other functions that you would expect to have on a smart phone.
In terms of looks, the C3 is a standard looking BlackBerry-ish phone. And as much as we would want to avoid comparisons with the more famous and established smart phone, one cannot help but set Nokia’s humble offering on the hot seat. So how does it fare? In terms of overall aesthetics, the C3 does have the look of a knockoff, but at least not a cheap one.
The keyboard is responsive and the button feedback allows for pretty fast typing, though the angling of the keys might have users with big fingers pressing the wrong buttons once too often.
Vodafone has already released their offered plans for the new smart phone, though they are not exactly reflective of the cheap price of the device itself.
