There’s a new touch screen smart phone from Nokia and it’s the latest device for the C-series handsets. At this point, it has yet to be confirmed if this is the same series as the dual SIM Nokia C2 handset, but it is quite likely. If you follow the hardware specs from the C1-00 to the C3, the handset’s specs increase with each new phone in the list.
Nokia’s C7 is hardly anything spectacular, but it is a dedicated touch screen smart phone and is considered to be a good device in terms of the balance of specs and features. It makes for a good low to mid range smart phone that is to be used by anyone who is not too picky about a device’s OS or apps.
Speaking of OS and app, it has been said that this device will be packing the S60 5th Symbian, though it would not be surprising if Nokia suddenly decides to use the Symbian^3 operating system instead –with plenty of anticipation for the S^3 (and fourth), it would certainly be good if this handset gave the world a an idea of what the new OS really brings.
As for apps, expect this handset to come fully compatible will all the nice features from the Nokia Ovi store (such as free voice guided satellite navigation on Ovi Maps) as well as access to Nokia’s large library of music on the Ovi music store.
Specs wise, this handset is decent and well balance. The 3.5 inch TFT capacitive touch screen has good quality is responsive to commands; it supports GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA and (presumably) WiFi networks. Lastly, a close look at the device reveals a micro SD card slot and a 3.55 mm audio jack on the top of the phone. Nokia has yet to make any formal announcement regarding when the C7 will be released.
