Nokia’s C-series of handsets provides users with a wide gamut of choices. From basic 2G handsets to fully functional smart phones, the C series has a phone for almost every type of user. The latest addition to the series is the C6-01; this device has appeared in the official Dutch website of Nokia, giving the public a first look at this upgraded version of the original Nokia C6.
The C6-01 is basically what one would consider a low end smart phone. Packed with the old Symbian S60 OS and an ARM 434 CPU, the device delivers all the basic functions that one would expect from a smart phone and a couple of extras. By extras, we mean a pretty good camera.
The camera on the C6-01 is an 8 mega pixel snapper with dual LED flash. This is a slight upgrade over the original Nokia C6 which uses a 5 mega pixel camera and has a standard LED flash. Both devices can also record videos in VGA (at 30 FPS). The camera on both phones come complete with autofocus, geo tagging and face/smile detection software.
Aside from the differences in the camera hardware, the older C6 and the newer C6-01 handsets are quite similar. Both have the same operating systems and user interfaces, as well as the same processor and performance speed. It is still a decent enough phone to be successful. The device’s easy to use UI and complementing features gives users all the basic functions they would want from a smart phone.
It also comes with a slide out QWERTY keyboard, this makes long typing tasks much easier to complete –and is really useful for anyone who loves to use instant messaging, email, Twitter and other similar functions. The keys are even spaced and the four row layout is easy to get used to.
