A recent UK roadmap document got leaked and it revealed a host of smart phones –including Nokia’s upcoming N8 smart phone. The latest N-series handset is going to be the only Symbian^3 OS to be used in the set, but considering how well the Symbian Foundation has made their operating systems, it would not be surprising if the Symbian^4 makes an appearance in a new N-series handset in the future.
Anyway, focusing back on the N8, there is really just one major feature that people have to look out for: the 12 mega pixel camera. Of course, the N8 is not the only phone to have such a high mega pixel count, but this is a great combination.
The handset brings together a great touch screen display, AMOLED technology and HD video playback to deliver a very in-depth media experience. The internal memory of the handset is a nice 16GB so there little worry about losing space, though microSD card support is there if users need it.
The N8’s 12 mega pixel camera is all decked out with the gear, though one can only be curious if the Carl Zeiss lens and Xenon flash is simply just being excessive to a handset –it almost is, but considering the quality of the photos, this would make the N8 a great secondary device for users.
Speaking of the leaked roadmap, several other devices were also revealed in the listing. The HTC Gold, Ace and Vision are confirmed to be part of the list. Two of the devices are Android phones and the Gold is an HTC Mondrian. The Vision is getting plenty of attention for being the first THC device to actually have a physical keyboard and the Android OS. Little has been revealed about the new Samsung smart phone, but it is rumored that it is also a Windows Phone 7 device.
