While we are all a little hesitant of announcing yet another expected launch date for the Nokia N8 Symbian smart phone, there is no point in not talking about it either.
The Nokia N8 is expected to come out this August 26, though if it gets delayed yet again, it would no longer be surprising. Originally, the smart phone was supposed to be released by last April –which is already several months ago. Nokia has not made any official statement explaining why the handset has been delayed, but in the past few weeks, it has had new launch dates given and even newer delays consistently pushing it back.
Even the Symbian Foundation is getting the bad end of the deal with the launch delay. As everyone knows, Nokia’s starting to focus on the newer MeeGo operating system. While the Finnish phone maker still relies on the Symbian OS for many of its other devices outside of the N-series, it is pretty much believed that the recent decrease in Nokia popularity has been brought by the OS.
The Symbian^3 mobile platform which is being used in the Nokia N8 is expected to be a dynamic and revamped look for the aging operating system and will be showcasing many of the platform’s new features. Even Nokia’s director of mobile solutions seems quite pleased and excited with the handset, stating that many users would be surprised –and we assume, at how good the phone is.
Nokia’s N8 smart phone will be loaded with a 12 mega pixel camera, Carl Zeiss lens and Xenon flash –making this one of the best camera phones available in the market. While the processor is a lot slower than the typical 1GHz variants that we see in today’s high end models, the N8 does not rely on processing power alone –it is packed with plenty of impressive features for media and other phone functions.
