JCB has made a name for itself when it comes to creating tough handsets. With over 50,000 devices already out on the market, it is one brand that many phone users have deemed synonymous with durability and toughness. Partnering up with Data Select, JCB has created a new line of tough phones designed for everyone. After all, it does not take very serious activities to subject a phone to undue stress.
One of the devices has been confirmed to be a phone that is buoyant –basically, it floats on water. While the minimum water level for buoyancy has not been announced, this is one phone that you would be less hesitant to bring to the poolside. Naturally, the device is expected to be quite water resistant. Three other devices will also be released alongside this handset. It is expected that each phone would have very specific features and specializations. Price range for the entire lineup has not been announced, but it has been confirmed that the cheapest is a promising 69.99 Pounds.
Of course, the biggest target market is still a pretty niche crowd of phone users with very active lifestyles –from hikers, skiers, and even those who love to engage in extreme sports where bumps, tumbles and falls are an everyday part of activities. The new JCB tough phone handsets are expected to be officially announced and unveiled sometime this coming week.
Creative Labs, famous for its powerful audio cards for computers and their lineup of speakers and media players, has announced that it will be expanding its line with the launch of a new Android tablet.
The device has been named as the ZiiO and will be a multi spec device providing buyers with a range of choice in terms of both display size (it comes in 7 and 10 inch touch screens) as well as internal memory size (with choices between 8GB to 16GB).
