O2 Could See 30,000 iPhones Returned

O2 LogoIt has been predicted that due to the standard two week return policy, UK mobile phone carrier O2 is about to see a flood of iPhones getting returned; something the company definitely doesn’t need after the week it has had, in which not only Orange but also Vodafone announced plans to start stocking the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS after O2′s exclusive deal with Apple came to an end.

Following it’s competing networks announcements relating to the iPhone, it has been estimated that approximately 30,000 recent buyers of iPhones might decide to return their mobile phones before the two week return policy expires on them.

The Telegraph presented the number and, like us, supposes that plenty of users may want to return their phones and wait until they can get a better deal with Orange or Vodafone – a smart move when you consider how competitive the inevitable price war will be when three major networks are battling it out not only to attract new customers, but also to keep old ones.

Users who have owned their iPhone for over two weeks wont be able to get out of their plans with O2 unless the company is found to have somehow breached the contract, although it isn’t the end of the world; even with prices dropping and better deals around, they aren’t going to be cheap as chips – Apple products never are.

We would suggest trying to haggle with O2 before deciding on returning your mobile phone however, as many stores have the discretion to give you some nice little bonuses when you are considering leaving the company; something definitely worth considering if you have already set up your iPhone just the way you like it.
