If you live in the UK and have a mobile phone with Virgin, you be happy to know that you will soon be able to get online from your handset for only 30p a day! Virgin Mobile has just announced this latest update to their services, along with plenty of details; Most importantly, the release date, which is set at December 8th – less than three months away!
The ability to access the internet from your Virgin Mobile phone will literally be not just as cheap as chips, but even cheaper – and it is going to be made available to both pre paid and post paid customers.
You will automatically be charged 30p a day; which will see you have access to Bebo, Myspace and Facebook while you are out and about, as well as letting you log on to check and respond to your emails.
The initiative comes as mobile phones continue to become more and more advanced, while pricing structures for internet browsing from one’s handset seem to be getting more complex; Virgin wants its customers to be able to play around online from their phones without worrying about big bills – something that has been a long time coming.
Currently, only 7% of all mobile phone users in the United Kingdom go online with their phones, which we can only put down to the costs associated with doing so. Virgin providing access at a set price will likely see this number double by the new year and then continue to grow as various advertising campaigns see the service grow in popularity.
