At first glance, the LG GC900 Viewty Smart looks more like a camera than a mobile phone. What a joy to find out that it is actually both. LG has previously amazed over millions of mobile phone users with the LG KU990 (the Viewty Smart’s predecessor) so expect to fall in love as well, with this newer, sleeker version.

There is no official word yet as to how much the phone will cost, but the LG Viewty Smart, otherwise known as Viewty 2, is scheduled to be available in the market this May. One of the striking features of the phone is its brilliant 3-inch, 800 x 480 pixel touchscreen which is quite Apple iPhone-esque but the similarity stops there. The Viewty 2 is equipped with LG’s proprietary S-Class user interface, which will be a familiar sight to users who have previously owned an LG Arena. The S-Class interface is an impressive innovation as it renders navigation in 3D so that you get a functional yet fun way of manipulating the phone. 
 

Other advanced features that you can look forward to are the phone’s upgraded camera capabilities. It has an 8 megapixel camera equipped with a shutter that is has ISO 1600 sensitivity. Apart from this, the camera also features an intelligent shooting technology that makes for better images as the phone accordingly adjusts settings. Video recording and playback functions are equally admirable. LG incorporated DivX and Xvid video playback as well as full speed and slow motion, DVD standard recordings into the Viewty 2. Geo-tagging is also possible on this unit as well as manual and auto-focus functions.
