The LG GM730 is a Deceptively Amazing Phone

LG GM730Mobile devices come in all shapes and sizes, well they should. With the recent trend leaning towards touch screen devices, most smart phone being released seem like they all came out of the same cookie cutter. Fortunately, the LG GM730 does not suffer the same fate. Sure it has all the other features of smart phones. Multiple connectivity options, a good camera, expandable memory, Windows Mobile, a whole lot of other functions and yes, a touch screen. Unlike other touch screen mobile phones the GM730 is shaped in a refreshing new look. The soft rounded edges make it look like an elongated egg, in a nice way of course.

The GM730 Screen Test

The touch screen is three inches, and can display a resolution of up to 240×400 pixels. While that is a little below par of most touch screen displays; not to mention that others can now display up to 800×600 pixels of resolution, this is significantly more than enough. Unless you plan on watching high definition video on your phone, seriously, would you? The lower resolution should not be a bother. It can still display the beautiful images it can capture with its 5 mega pixel camera with excellent clarity. This phone looks good and is quite functional too.

The Mobile Phone in Action

One of the nicest things about LG is that they know how to make a good phone. The GM730 may be lacking in terms of display resolution, but it still meets the current standards for mobile phone. For one, it comes installed with Windows Mobile 6.1, whether this will be upgradeable has yet to be confirmed, but we are inclined to believe that it is. Second, the processor is good enough to load applications and functions with only a minimal amount of slowdown. Good mobile phones like the GM730 are hard to come by, so if you are planning to trade in your old GSM and get yourself a smart phone, this model may be perfect for you.
