The LG GT505: The Very First Push Networking Phone

lg-gt505-and-gw520The latest from LG, the LG GT505 is being marketed as a social networking device designed to enable users to strengthen their social networks. According to the company, this mobile is the very first of its kind as whilst many phones focus on push e-mail, the LG GT505 takes it a step further by offering push technology for networking as well.

So how does that work exactly? Well, similar to push e-mail, you get instant notification of the status and activities that your contacts are currently engaged in. Uses are connected to their online communities whenever and wherever they are located.

Naturally, the whole networking feature will not be complete without the ability to keep your own social page up to date. LG has that covered as well. You can update and share your status messages, make changes and upload pictures to your page. Apart from networking, navigation is also a key feature of this phone. It is equipped with a GPS preloaded with a navigation solution called WisePilot.

WisePilot provides directions while driving or walking, provides assistance when looking for locations such as parking, restaurants and so on. The system also automatically inputs updates regarding maps and other relevant information. Take note though, that the WisePilot solution is only a 30 day trial.

Other features of the LG GT505 include a 5 megapixel camera which is complemented by the 3 inch touchscreen (for easier viewing and shooting), an MP3 and MPEG4 player, video and photo call functions, Java support as well as productivity tools such as voice memo, document viewer and organiser.
The LG GT505 is 3G supported and it also offers WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.

The LG GT505 was announced together with another networking phone, the LG GW520 and these two are follow-ups to the LG KS360. The LG GT505 is set to be offered by Orange UK this June although prices are still unknown at this point.
