The Finnish mobile phone giant Nokia has just unveiled an entry level touchscreen smartphone, the Nokia 5230. It has a striking affinity to the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic in looks with the same 3.2” touchscreen display but with a toned down 2 megapixel fixed-focus camera and without the WiFi features.
This makes it quite affordable to the young crowd wanting a more serious-looking but trendy touchscreen smartphone without a serious price tag. Notwithstanding the prudent feature a cut, its focus on multimedia entertainment is not lost with superb basic features that define it as an affordable touchscreen smartphone.
Outstanding Features
The Nokia 5230 is a quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA mobile phone with 3G/HSDPA support. Weighing a mere 135 grams, it’s one of the lightest full-featured touchscreen smartphone in the market today. It uses the latest Symbian OS 5th version platform with a new user interface using an innovative media bar on the homescreen with all your apps and files for quick access when you need them. Getting to the Nokia’s Ovi Store and Ovi Share becomes a breeze as they are part of the media bar as well as YouTube and Facebook, to mention some.
The handset features a very user-friendly music player that can play 33 hours straight between battery charging.
