The recently introduced Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is truly an ideal combination of fun and functionality and whilst it is marketed as a music phone, it has such an extensive array of communication, multimedia and connectivity features that it really counts as an all-around device. The Nokia 5730 has yet to be released (scheduled for the third quarter, 2009) but it was launched in conjunction with two other models, the Nokia 5330 and 5030.
I see that people will take massive enjoyment from using this phone as there are many exciting ways to entertain yourself. The focal point of this phone is music and it has a nifty “say and play” feature where you use your voice to access as much as 8GB of music. Excellent sound quality is provided by the music player, enhanced further by its built-in speaker. You also have the option to use a 3.5 mm AV plug headset. You get up to 25 hours of play time on this phone. Other listening choices are the stereo FM radio or Internet radio and FM by way of Bluetooth.Gamers will be pleased to know that this Xpress model is N-Gage enabled so the unit has dedicated gaming keys which you can access through the convenient side slide QWERTY keyboard. You can play online with your friends in the N-Gage Arena. The slide out keyboard is also very useful for chatting, text messaging and logging into your favorite social networking sites. The phone also sports a convenient homescreen that features a contacts bar to provide easy access to as many as 20 contacts.
The Nokia 5730 has equally comprehensive capabilities for communication and navigation, photography, browsing and email, and GPS. It is currently being challenged by the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD – both run on the touted Symbian 60 operating system but Nokia should be able to hold its own. Estimated retail price for the 5730 is 280 euros.
