Finally! The Samsung i7500

samsung-i7500Many people were disappointed when Samsung earlier announced that they will be holding off on releasing an Android-based mobile phone. But Samsung fans will be thrilled to find that the Samsung i7500 – a mobile phone running on Android v1.5 – has been recently launched and that it will be available in Europe sometime this June.
 
Let’s take a closer look at the reason why this phone is creating a ripple of excitement across the mobile world. Many people agree that the Samsung i7500 is filled with lots of remarkable features and it will be exciting to find out if the phone can indeed deliver on its promise.
 
i7500Its data and network features certainly will make for flawless call, messaging and browsing experience. It utilizes GPRS and EDGE Class 10 technology, HSCSD, Bluetooth, 3G and WiFi connectivity. It is a triband phone that supports 900/2100/1700 and 850/900/1800/1900 networks. It has an HTML browser and offers support for Java 2.0, email, SMS, MMS and instant messaging.
 
Its memory capacity is 8 gigabytes expandable to 32 gigabytes via the microSD card slot. You can store numerous contacts onto the phonebook as well as video and audio content. Its 3.2 inch display is a capacitive touchscreen that’s equipped with AMOLED technology. This affords users brilliant and vivid display of colors even as the phone consumes less power. The same technology is also used on the display of the Samsung Omnia.
 

The Samsung i7500 has a 5 megapixel camera equipped with an LED flash plus autofocus, night mode, video and geo-tagging functions. The HTC Magic’s camera is a mere 3.15 megapixel. Geo-tagging is possible with the i7500’s integrated GPS which can also be loaded with Google Maps. Being an Android phone, a variety of Google services will be made available on the unit. As of this writing, there is still no official announcement regarding prices and we may have to wait till June to find out.
