Samsung B3310

Samsung B3310Looking at the Samsung B3310, I am a little lost for words. At first it strikes a person as being somewhat, well, hideous. However, when I look at it again it is slightly more pleasing; slowly I’m starting to admire its unusual “style”.

The Samsung B3310 handset is pretty much a standard GSM mobile phone when it comes to features, you’ve got a 2 inch screen with a 240 x 320 pixel display, an inbuilt 2 mega pixel camera, multimedia player, FM radio, Bluetooth connectivity and an option for additional memory using a microSD card. Plus there is the now common place full QWERTY keyboard, on this particular model as a slider.

What makes it look so different? The numbers running along the left hand side of the device, that’s what. When the keyboard is tucked away and the phone is held upright the number keys run from the top to the bottom, looking quite off putting and making us hope there is an option to key lock this phone. However, when you slide it open and turn it around, the numbers line up with your QWERTY keyboard just like they would on a regular one, which is actually surprisingly refreshing.

We do have one beef with the Samsung B3310 handset however, and that is that the keys are not lined up as one would expect – sure, no mobile phone handset has the perfect QWERTY keyboard, (yet,) but here the bottom row of keys is spaced out in an unusual fashion which is highly counterintuitive.

All in all it is still a neat little handset once you adjust to the keyboard, and as it is available on pay as you go it is priced very reasonably.
