Face it, Samsung is running out of ideas. After having come up with some pretty amazing models recently (you know what we are referring to), Samsung seems like it is taking a breather from being an industry leader and taking a step back from it all. Nothing can show this casual new approach better than their Genio series of mobile phones.
Is Casual Bad?
Casual mobile phones are not necessarily bad, but mind you, these devices hardly have any features or unique capabilities that will make you want to keep them for a long time. If you are the type who tends to buy a transitional phone every few months, then you might as well pick this one up too. Otherwise, there are plenty of other smart phones available that offer so much more in terms of hardware, features and design.
A Basic Smart Phone
If there is one thing holding back the Genio from being a worthwhile phone to own, it is the same factor that is present in today’s run-of-the-mill smart phones; mediocrity. Wi-Fi, HSDPA, a camera, a QWERTY keyboard, a touch screen, these are not features that you would be hoping for; these are features to be expected with smart phones. The memory is a trite 120 megabytes. That is hardly sufficient for most mobile phones, but at least you have got a SD card slot to expand the memory storage.
A Little Below Average
Perhaps the main reason why the Samsung Genio Pro attracts a slight extent of disdain is that it managed to fail an obvious flaw. Memory capacity has always been tagged at 2GB for most smart phones, and for this device to hardly have even a fifth of a gigabyte of memory is extremely disappointing. While it does have a keyboard, a touch screen and other important features; and these are all incorporated properly –other smart phones meet those standards as well.
