Samsung Lucido, Not Flashy but Very Capable

Samsung-LucidoOne could say that the Samsung Lucido doesn’t go with the flow when it comes to aesthetics as whilst most phones sport flashy, sometimes downright ostentatious designs, the Lucido is simply styled and somewhat serious. This could be because Samsung chose to fill it with rich features instead of opulent design details – which is just as well as when it comes to mobile phones, the inside is what really counts.

Like a lot of Samsung phone units, this model sports an AMOLED screen (also seen on the Tocco Ultra) and while the Lucido’s isn’t what you would consider sizeable, that doesn’t take away from the vibrancy of the display. A handy feature is its auto-rotate sensor that orients the screen according to which direction it is turned. Very cool indeed!

It is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera that has flash and autofocus functions. It also has face detection and smile capture as well as the very useful anti-blur technology. This allows you to take high resolution photographs. It also has video capture and playback capabilities. Music lovers won’t feel excluded as the Samsung Lucido has a music player and an FM radio. The music player is compatible with MP3, AAC, WAV and WMA audio formats.

The Lucido has a built-in GPS system which you can load with Google Maps. As such, geo-tagging is an added feature of the phone. This phone also has HSDPA connectivity that allows up to 7.2Mbps download speeds. Extra connectivity options are the microUSB version 2 and Bluetooth 2.0. It has a 110MB internal memory which you can expand to as much as 8GB by way of the microSD slot. The unit has support for GSM and UMTS bands. The Lucido’s dimensions are at a slim 11.8 millimeters.

The Samsung Lucido was released following the Samsung U800 which got rave reviews. It was launched in February this year and is currently available for about £120.
