Samsung Omnia 2 I8000 is like a Pocket PC and touch expertise with a high resolution and a large screen. Samsung announced this mobile phone some time back and in spite of sharing its name with i900 Omnia, it was more like the Samsung i8510 INNOV8, as it has a Symbian OS and a lot of stress on imaging.
The Omnia 2 comes with a 3.7 inches color WVGA AMOLED touch screen display which uses around 65 percent reduced power when compared to a conventional TFT display. There has been an enhancement in the display, and now has superior touch characteristics which offer more precise response to touch. The Omnia 2 works on new TouchWiz 2.0 interface from Samsung. It also has the 3D Cube multimedia effect as well as a motion receptive user interface which has smart unlock and accelerometer controls. You can use action to open specific applications from the screen which is locked. It is loaded with the operating system, Windows Mobile 6.1 base which can be upgraded to 6.5 when it is released by Microsoft.
Omnia 2 has a 5 megapixels camera which can take clear images and shoot videos like DVD with playback and excellent resolution recording. With the launch of the OmniaLITE and the Samsung Omnia II Samsung is trying to establish themselves as the leaders in the mobile phone market. Launching a number of new Smartphone’s is a great way get on the path of leadership. Samsung I8000 Omnia 2 is expected to be available in the market by the end of 2009. It is a very intriguing successor to the innovative Windows Mobile Omnia i900. There are several superior touch screen PocketPC phones in the market and the number seems to be increasing. There will be many more if one includes the slide-out QWERTY devices to this group.
