Fresh from the recent Games Edition, mobile phone manufacturer Samsung has just announced that it will now be launching yet another upgrade to its popular F480 Tocco handset – the major change of which lies with the TouchWiz user interface.
This new edition of the Samsung F480 has been named the Samsung TouchWiz F488i and it will include what the company is calling a “3 x TouchWiz user interface”. Meaning that we can expect to see the F488i incorporate both online widgets and social networking widgets that can function easily with popular websites such as Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Flickr and Picasa, as well as giving the user a feature tab page view – which means that ability to upload pictures and videos to their social networking pages with a single click.
The Samsung F488i also includes some other impressive features, such as a 240 x 400 pixel display, HSDPA and GSM connectivity, as well as a very nice little 5 mega pixel camera with auto focus and LED flash.
The new mobile phone has already seen an initial launch into the Hong Kong mobile marketplace, however there is some very strong speculation that it will only be a matter of weeks before the Samsung F488i starts showing up all over the world – although Samsung has not confirmed these rumours, we will feel pretty positive about it.
It should be said that as nice of a mobile phone as it is, we wonder how it will fare when competing against the flood of new handsets that have reached, and will continue to reach, the mobile market of late – if you are a Samsung fan it is your clear choice, but more casual buyers without a preferred brand could easily be swayed by the latest Nokia or HTC.
