Across the world, at events in London, Singapore and Dubai, Samsung has just introduced its latest mobile phone; the Samsung Jet.
The unofficial slogan is “smarter than a smartphone”, which seems to suit the handset well. It has plenty of smartphone features while still using the interface of a more traditional mobile phone.
The Samsung Jet has a full touch screen, (3.1 inches,) as you would expect, but at a resolution four times higher than the majority of its competitors. It also responds to the users actions significantly faster than many smartphones do, which is down to it’s 800 MHZ application processor. Right of the box it includes a multi tasking manager and the added functionality of being able to work with Microsoft Office documents; both to read and edit.
Samsung‘s Dolfin Internet browser is in place, letting users get online to surf or to visit the various social networking sites they belong to, all while seeing amazingly fast times in both response and loading. Up to five different web pages can be open at once, with the ability to add your favourite sites as widgets on the handsets homepage. The impressive internet capabilities also include an in built ad blocker and the ability to download multiple files at once, while keeping the downloader in the background and out of your way.
Not unlike the latest Macbooks, users will have the added advantage of being able to zoom in and out on a web page with only one hand, thanks to a one finger zoom option.
Of course, it also features a 5 mega pixel camera, GPS as well as DivX and XviD support – but that comes as no surprise to us. We are inclined to agree with Samsung; the Jet really is smarter than a smartphone.
