The Samsung i7500 was recently launched and one of the reasons it has been getting so much attention is that this is the company’s first unit to come with the Android operating system. Apart from that, its features are also generating a lot of excitement despite its slim size since it’s packed with some powerful elements.The Samsung i7500 has a full web browser and high speed HSDPA as well as HSUPA connectivity which make for superior browsing capability. Coupled with this is a solid 528 MHz processor that’s sure to add operational speed to the unit. The i7500 also has WiFi, Bluetooth and GPRS/EDGE technology. You can send emails, SMS and MMS on this device. You can also communicate with your friends via instant messaging. This unit is equipped with a speaker phone and you get virtually limitless phonebook and call record storage.
The phone boasts of an AMOLED capacitive touchscreen which also sports an accelerometer so no matter in which direction you hold it, the screen will adjust itself accordingly. It has an internal memory of 8GB and is outfitted with a microSD slot so you can expand storage capacity to 32GB. That’s even more storage than what the iPhone offers.Premium multimedia features are also another highlight of this phone. You can record and play videos as well as audio files. It has a 5MP camera and a 3.5 millimeter audio jack. The HTC Magic, a direct rival of the i7500, sports a lower capacity camera and it doesn’t have a phone jack and so it falls short on these two counts.
Additionally, Samsung’s device comes with an integrated GPS so you can perform geo-tagging tasks and load the phone with Google Maps. A host of other Google services are also available to users, among these, Gmail, YouTube, Google Calendar and Google Talk. European release is scheduled for June although there hasn’t been an announcement on price.
