All-New Gesture Gaming on the Sony Ericsson Yari

Sony-Ericsson-Yari

Forget about the days when your fingers would end up swelling because of playing games on your mobile. The new wave of mobile gaming technology is upon us and the new Sony Ericsson Yari is one of the first to commercialize this new feature. Yes, you read it right. Gesture-gaming has now become a reality for mobile phones. Twist and turn your way into a more enjoyable gaming experience with the upcoming Sony Ericsson Yari.

Game On!

Sony Ericsson has made use of GestureTek’s optical tracker technology to let the Yari’s camera recognize and translate your bodily moves into virtual game actions. It will come pre-installed with two games—Fitness and Tennis—which will both require you to move your entire body in order to participate in the game. Portable Nintendo Wii, anyone?

You can also download more gaming content on Sony Ericsson’s new PlayNow arena to enhance your entire gaming experience.

Multimedia at Your Fingertips

As far as I can remember it was in the Sony Ericsson F305 where we first saw gesture-gaming technology. The problem was this device had features that were purely functional (i.e. 2-Megapixel camera, 10MB internal memory, no 3G support). With the Yari, users will not only be able to enjoy the wonders of gesture gaming, but also have a device that has tons of impressive features.

For starters the Yari has a 5-Megapixel camera complete with geo-tagging, face & smile detection, and image stabilization, among other things. You can also watch your favourite videos or view your most memorable photos on the Yari’s excellent 2.4-inch screen that has a 240 x 320-pixel resolution.

Easy Access

On the Yari you can also use the NetFront web browser (also present in the Sony Ericsson Aino) that allows you to access bookmarks, enjoy Web Feeds, or search Google with a few simple clicks. Instant messaging and mobile email are also some of the other features of the Yari that will help you stay connected wherever you may be.
