Sony Ericsson has announced its newest entry-level camera phone, the Sony Ericsson S312 Snapshot. The S312 Snapshot features a stylish design that comes in two colors, dawn blue and honey silver. The Sony Ericsson S312 mobile phone is being marketed as a phone that can help you capture spontaneous, everyday moments. It closely resembles the S302 unit but Sony Ericsson added a dedicated video camera key for easy video recording and its 2 megapixel camera is equipped with illuminated imaging keys to make it easy for you to take photos. The Photo Fix technology allows you to enhance the images that you took at the press of a button.
Picture blogging is also enabled on this phone. You can upload your photos into your blog in a few easy clicks. You can also add captions to the photos. There is also an in-phone media player for music and videos. A music recognition service called TrackID is incorporated into the phone to help you identify tracks. Details such as album, artist and song title are sent to your phone after you have recorded a few seconds of a given track.Internet connectivity is provided via a full internet browser (OpenWave), WAP and Bluetooth. Other fun features include a PlayNow element where you can download music and games to your phone. The S312 also supports Java so you can update your phone with 3D games and other applications. Other practical components of this phone include an organizer that features to-do lists, a calendar, alarm clock and stopwatch among others. There is also an FM radio with RDS.
The S312 Snapshot was launched together with the W205 Walkman phone and both will be available to the public during the third quarter of this year. There is no word just yet on pricing but the S302 currently sells for 100 euros, so the S312 will probably go for a little over that price tag.
