It appears the new mantra for Sony Ericsson’s release is “beauty over substance.” That is exactly what the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pureness is offering. It is not a have-it-all mobile phone like so many other claims to be; rather it is proud to be simple (in terms of its lack of applications), and flaunts beauty proudly. It won’t allow you to check your emails or browse the Internet but what it will do is give you a little break; a little breather from the hectic life that comes with technological advancement and lets you enjoy the finer things in life, like beauty and simplicity.
The Design
The XPERIA Pureness’ design provides exactly what its name suggest, purity. It keys are typical of those on any candy bar phone apart from the fact that it does not have anything written on the face of its buttons (when not in use). This offers people the feeling of serenity with a touch of class and sophistication thanks to its black finish. It has a screen that is transparent, and monochromatic. As a result, it looks so seamless that it gives the illusion that the display is floating on thin air. Overall, the design is one that summon up feelings of calmness, with its beauty coming from its minimalism.
Its Functionality
As for the substance, this mobile phone does not have a lot to offer, and that is how Sony Ericsson designed it to be. Apart from the usual call, and text features (as well as the clock feature), this mobile phone does not have any other major feature. It does come with Bluetooth connectivity, and possibly a camera and a music playback feature but that is pretty much it.
This is a mobile phone designed to take you away from technology, and bring you closer to appreciating style and minimalism. If you want functionality, go somewhere else but if you want to experience a escape from everything, and a return to beauty, then this is the phone for you.
