The Latest Addition to Eco-Friendly Mobiles: The New Sony Ericsson Naite GreenHeart

Sony-Ericsson-NaiteTogether with the Sony Ericsson C901 GreenHeart, the Naite is Sony Ericsson’s official demonstration of their intentions to enter the eco-friendly mobile arena. Don’t be too quick to draw as the new Sony Ericsson Naite GreenHeart still packs in a lot of impressive features. Along with video calling and high-speed internet browsing capabilities, the Naite’s one-touch access button makes life much easier for users.

A Pioneer

The Naite is definitely a pioneer in its own right. For instance, it is one of the first devices to include an electronic instructions manual installed on the device in place of a paper-based user guide. This simple yet innovative step actually reduces paper usage by 90%. It also makes it easier to ship the Naite in a much smaller package, thus reducing CO2 emissions during transport.

A Greener Choice

The Naite is equipped with eco-friendly features that should help users live greener lives. Examples of which are the Ecomate app and the Carbon Footprint calculator—two applications that provide users with information that should help them make decisions that are more environment-friendly.

Sony Ericsson Marketing Business Manager Quentin Cordier couldn’t have made it clearer when he said that “Naite is a phone that not only helps you to organise your life and work, it allows consumers to make an economical choice with the low-power charger and reduce their impact on the environment. Going green shouldn’t mean consumers have to sacrifice features or style so we’ve created a phone that is packed with impressive features such as high-speed 3G and Active desktop to help consumers manage their busy lives.”

Other Notable Features

Sony-Ericsson-NaiteAlthough the Naite may not boast the Sony Ericsson Satio’s astounding 12-Megapixel camera, it is still able to hold its own in terms of features. The Naite sports a functional 2-Megapixel camera that will also shoot QVGA videos at 15fps. The mobile’s 2.2-inch TFT screen displays a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, which means you can still expect to watch videos with adequate quality.

The Naite will be available in Q3 of 2009 and will be priced at around £80.
