XPERIA X2 – Organize Your Life

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

XPERIA2_03As we all know, September 2nd saw Sony Ericsson announce their new smartphone, the XPERIA X2. While the features are impressive I can’t get over how beautiful the mobile phone itself looks, SEMC Blog has a bunch of great photos that I guarantee will pique your interest.

It is a mobile phone for those who always want to be connected, even on the move, and provides a very creative balance between work life and play time, with professional features a business handset requires side by side with fun functions for when you are relaxing during your time off.

When you slide out the full QWERTY keyboard you will notice that the screen display changes, rotating 90 degrees, to become wide screen – a must when writing emails or browsing the web. This feature is known as “SlideView”.

Another amazing feature of the XPERIA X2 is the TV out option; this awesome TV functionality will be useful professionally and at home, as you can make presentations straight from your handset, or alternative show your friends the photos from your weekend trip out of state, all up on a big screen.

The 8.1 mega pixel camera is able to take flawless shots, and is twice the mega pixels of most mid range digital cameras from the early 2000s. Plus, with a 3.2 high resolution inch touch screen, watching videos and viewing photos will feel like you are using a tiny DVD player.

Featuring Windows Mobile 6.5 and boasting incredible power, greater than many netbooks, the XPERIA X2 is the professional phone for people who still want to have fun.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 official launch

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

XPERIA2_03An official announcement has been made regarding the much talked about and highly anticipated Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2. The announcement includes the release of some genuine photos rather than the ‘artistic interpretations’ that we have had to make do with so far. To be fair, those interpretations weren’t far off and the new Sony Ericsson phone looks like a very stylish handset.

The X2 is the WinMo addition to Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA range and should be released in time for the new Windows Mobile 6.5. On top of WinMo Sony Ericsson will be placing their X Panels UI, which from the photos looks like a very competitive and intuitive interface.

While the XPERIA X2 had been rumoured to have a 3.5” OLED screen it turns out that it will instead come with a 3.2” WVGA TFT screen. The XPERIA will come with 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM and 110MB of internal storage space. The storage can be upgraded through microUSB you’ll be glad to know, and 4GB will be included in the standard package.

The XPERIA X2 features a nice camera with 8 megapixels with autofocus and LED flash, and this can also record VGA video at 30fps. Other entertainment features that will be welcomed by many will include a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones and a TV-out socket. There are also stereo speakers for improved sound quality when listening to music and the media player looks like it will have a very extensive range of compatibility.

XPERIA2_01The official announcement of the highly anticipated XPERIA X2 comes just days after the announcement of Windows Mobile 6.5 which will feature on the phone. Although the new WinMo features some much needed improvements to the Microsoft OS it has been met with what could best be described as a lukewarm reception. With many complaining that Microsoft still don’t understand what phone users actually want out of a phone OS, here’s hoping that the public perception of the new Windows Mobile doesn’t sour the release of what looks like one of the hottest phones of the year.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2: With Enhanced Performance And Features

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

XPERIA line is coming out with more mobile phones after the well known X1. It will be a Windows Mobile phone, which is expected to be larger than the X1 and will also have a touch screen. Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 is a horizontal slider which comes with almost the same interface that is seen in XPERIA X1. XPERIA X2 is a 3G Smartphone with a 5 megapixel camera, 3.9 inches broad screen multi touch display, two game buttons, as well as a D-pad.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 has a very sleek look when it is closed, and the Win Mob 6.5 UI combines perfectly with the hardware. When you open the handset, the X2 reveals a full QWERTY keyboard which has the look of an aged keyboard of a PC.  Not much specs are available for this phone except that it will have internal memory of 200MB and a Qualcomm MSM 7200 CPU. No release date or the price of this device been announced by Sony Ericsson.

Microsoft is working on the next edition of its operating system for mobile phones and an upgrade of Windows Mobile 7 is expected to be released in 2010.

The Xperia X2 is expected to come with a bigger 3.5 inches touch screen compared to the present model which has a 3 inches screen. You will get an OLED and not a common LCD display. It is a slider handset and the screen moves to display landscaped keyboard. XPERIA X2 will also use the Xperia panels which were the trademark of the XPERIA X1. Not much is known about which Qualcomm processor will be used by this Smartphone, but will be quicker   than that of the Xperia X1. Sony Ericsson has also adjusted the software for utmost performance. As we have seen X1 can be purchased in silver as well as black and it is expected that X2 will also be made available in the same color versions.
