Maria-Sharapova-T707One of the most common trends in mobile phone design is to incorporate flashy and elaborate detailing because, naturally, showy devices get attention. It is very rare to find a beautiful phone that is also packed with useful features. Sony Ericsson follows a different route by offering a mobile phone that is striking both in aesthetics and functionality.

Let’s start with the most substantial features, shall we? The Sony Ericsson T707 Elle comes with 3G connectivity plus the Access NetFront Web browser which allows for a seamless Web experience. Apart from being able to perform a variety of Internet-based tasks, you can proceed with your calls while downloading videos, games and music in the background.

Some users may contend that the T707 Elle might be in trouble when placed side by side with touchscreen phones such as the LG Cookie or the Samsung Tocco Lite as touchphones are the rave right now. But the Sony Ericsson device will surely exceed expectations especially when it comes to features. The T707 Elle will be released in the second quarter but no pricing details have been disclosed.

sony-ericsson-t707-openSony Ericsson opted to go for a clamshell casing on this one, even with the proliferation of touchscreen phones like the Samsung S5600 Preston and the LG Cookie. And why should they be worried? Style isn’t the only major selling point of the T707 Elle. The phone has 3G connectivity as well as WAP, WAP XHTML and Bluetooth – quite extensive for a mid-range phone. Messaging features are also optimised on this phone. You can synchronize your device with the Microsoft Exchange email server and you can send a variety of multimedia messages to your contacts.

The T707 Elle has a built-in GPS so that you can perform geo-tagging functions as well as get access to Google Maps. Entertainment is also covered very well on this phone. You can play videos and music, do real time video streaming, you can play Java and 3D games, even watch YouTube videos. There is a 3 megapixel camera with digital zoom, photo fix and video light features.

If this isn’t enough, the T707 Elle is also equipped with a host of organizational tools to help you keep your schedules on track. Sony Ericsson plans to release the unit into the market this May but they haven’t provided any details as to how much the T707 Elle will cost.

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009
T707-Lucid-BlueFashion and function – these are words that accurately describe the Sony Ericsson T707 Elle. Sony Ericsson has managed to combine stylish looks with more than adequate functionality in their newest clamshell device. The T707 Elle comes in Mysterious Black, Lucid Blue and Spring Rose colors and I must say, these are some of the most glowing hues you could find on a mobile phone finish. Apart from that, the T707 Elle is a dynamic phone in that it is outfitted with pulsating beams that serve as identification for callers. You can assign these effects to contacts so that when a friend calls, you can identify him by the lights that flash on the phone.

SE-T707-ThreeThe T707 Elle also boasts of Gesture Control technology. When the phone rings or when the alarm goes off, you can switch off the sounds by sweeping your hand over the phone. No need to grapple for a switch in the middle of the night or during an important meeting.

Messaging features are noteworthy as the phone can handle many types of messages, it even supports push email. There are also convenient message management tools incorporated into the phone. There’s the Manage Message feature where you can arrange messages by category, contact name, date and size. The Conversation Mode shows messages in threads, similar to the ones you find on instant messaging.

Sony Ericsson put in a version 3 music player onto the T707 Elle which has the MegaBass feature that enhances sound quality. The video player can perform fast-forward and rewind functions. The T707 has an FM radio that can store up to 20 stations and there is the useful TrackID feature that sends you track information based on recorded sound clips.

There are many other features that make the T707 Elle an excellent phone and it will surely hold up well even when pitted against touchscreen phones such as the Samsung Preston or Tocco Lite.
