T-Mobile has again partnered with HTC to release its own carrier customized edition Smartphone. Changing its name from the HTC Hero to the T-Mobile G2 Touch, this latest device from the UK-based network provider is packed with a boatload of impressive functions and features. However, aside from the usual Smartphone attributes on board, the multimedia capabilities of the G2 Touch are what make it an exceptional device.
The Snapper
The G2 Touch is probably the most multimedia-optimized Android Smartphone in the market today. For starters, it has upgraded the HTC Magic/T-Mobile G1’s 3.2-Megapixel snapper into a reputable 5-Megapixel camera. However, the lack of a flash feature is still a notable absence on the device. Nonetheless, it is still capable of capturing excellent quality photos with a maximum pixel ratio of 2592 x 1944 pixels. Aside from the familiar autofocus feature, the G2 Touch’s snapper also has a handy geo-tagging feature that allows you to sort your photos depending on where they were taken.
Also integrated in the device is the option to easily upload your photos and videos directly to social networking portals such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.
Web Browsing Made Easy
Users will also be glad to know that the T-Mobile G2 Touch also has excellent web browsing capabilities. The multi-touch pinch gestures allows more optimized page navigation while full flash compatibility ensures high-speed loading of flash-based sites. This also means that you can watch flash videos directly on the browser. However, there is another handy option for viewing online embedded videos. You can watch your favourite YouTube videos on the dedicated YouTube app which has been pre-installed as part of the G2 Touch’s amazing array of applications.
Aside from giving you the ability to view full HTML desktop websites, the device’s built-in web browser also has an auto-adjust feature that fits the pages on the screen automatically. It is also very responsive as you can easily navigate through the browser by either tapping, pinching, or swiping.
