T-Mobile G2 Touch: At a Glance

tmobile g2HTC has released what some claim to be one of the most advanced Android-powered devices in the market today. The T-Mobile G2 Touch – which is a carrier customized edition of the HTC Hero – is a Smartphone that claims to have the ability to give the iPhone a run for its money.

Screening Process

One of the best features of the G2 Touch has to be its much-improved touch screen display. This is of course with regard to its predecessor, the T-Mobile G1, which happened to have a screen that could be described as rather mediocre.

Other than styling, the G2 Touch’s screen has also received substantial upgrades which make it a more formidable Smartphone. It may have the same 480 x 320-pixel resolution as its predecessor, but let me tell you right now that in terms of touch navigation, the G2 Touch is much more optimized. Some might even go as far as saying that this feature is at the same level as that present on the Apple iPhone.

The G2 Touch has received some criticism because of its elevated jaw line located under the 3.2-inch TFT capacitive touch screen. However, users would be glad to know that it actually isn’t that bad in real life as it was made to look in some pictures on the internet. At the very least, it looks much better than the one present in the G1. It actually gives the device a sort of retro look while at the same time adding a sci-fi flair to it.

Spec Sheet

Aside from the upgraded touch screen display, the other features on the T-Mobile G2 Touch would be like any other you’d see on an Android Smartphone. The 528 MHz Qualcomm processor is partnered with 288MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM. HSDPA support ensures high-speed 3G connectivity while EDGE and GPRS allows users to stay connected while on the 2G network. Also on board are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
